Safety instructions

Before operation read the safety instructions in the instrument manual (included on CD as PDF-file). No claims of product liability or warranty can be honoured, if the device is not operated according to the manual.
If you pass this instrument to somebody else, make sure to include these instructions.

• Defects and extraordinary loads. If safe operation can no longer be presumed. shut down the device and secure it against unintended operation.

• if it has been stored for long periods under adverse conditions,
• after harsh treatment during shipping.
• Safety advices for batteries:
  a) Do not crush or dismantle, do not heat or incinerate, do not immerse in any liquid, do not place in or near high temperature places or in direct sunlight. This may cause explosion or release harmful substances.
  b) Ensure batteries have no short circuit on the contacts (for example due to damaged insulation). Metallic objects must not come in contact with the bare contacts. Immediately discontinue use if batteries appear abnormal in any way.
• Do not perform any repairs on the unit.
  The unit must be opened by BYK-Gardner authorized repair locations only.
• How to disconnect the instrument from any power source:
  a) by removing the battery compartment and
  b) by disconnecting the USB-interface cable.

• Only devices meeting the requirements for low voltage safety may be connected to the USB interface.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries are special waste. Follow the disposal instructions of the battery or rechargeable battery manufacturer.
